Air Force Captain Toni Ashcroft returned to active duty in Kuwait because she had something to prove to herself. Now she has finally “come to grips” with the horrible and tragic death of her weapons officer and best friend, Bridget. For months she has been longing to return and pick up her relationship with Alan, and at last she is to go on leave.

   Toni and Alan do reunite for a much deserved vacation to Disney World. However, a chance encounter on an airplane involves Toni in the murder of an Israeli woman in a lonely Florida motel room. Alan wants Toni to forget about the murder and get on with their vacation. Toni is the only one who cares about the woman, and who recognizes that resolving mystery of the murder transcends everything.

   Toni and her relationship with Alan are tested. Before she can truly exorcise her own demons, she must learn that understanding and acceptance are not the same as healing. Toni’s pursuit of the killer leads her, not to the Magic Kingdom, but inexorably into a world of murder, conspiracy, and international terrorism, a world facing the dawn of a new millennium and filled with nightmarish apocalyptic visions.
