About Author David Wolf

   David E. Wolf, Ph.D. is Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President for Research and Development at Sensor and BioHybrid Technologies, companies dedicated to finding new solutions and treatment alternatives for people with diabetes and other metabolic diseases. David is a biophysicist by training, having received his B.S. in Physics from Brooklyn College (1972) and his Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University in 1979. He was a National Cancer Institute Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University from 1978 - 1981. From 1981 - 1998 David was on the faculty of the Worcester Foundation for Biomedical Research. From 1998 to 2002 he was Professor of Physiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In 2003 he dedicated himself fulltime to Sensor and BioHybrid Technologies.

   David has a long history of private and federal funding of his research on peptide hormone signaling and cell activation. He is world-renowned for his expertise in biomedical engineering and bioinstrumentation and directs the Analytical and Quantitative Light Microscopy program offered annually by The Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, Massachusetts. David has authored and coauthored over fifty publications in respected scientific journals and has written widely in the area of modern digital microscopy.

   In addition to his scientific activities, David has a broad range of interests which are reflected in his fiction writing including: comparative religion and mythology, geology, and history. David writes principally in the mystery genre. However, his stories always combine a thread of romance, and are usually balanced at the cutting edge of the technologically possible, somewhere between science and science fiction.
